About Dina:

Dina J. Reh is originally from Toronto, Canada. At the young age of two, Dina was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Dina’s younger days were a consistent fight for survival due to consistent high fevers and a debilitating illness.

Dina also overcame a terrible car accident at age 12 which left her wheelchair-bound and dependent on care from family and caregivers.

Dina has lived in North San Diego County since 1991.

After receiving her Bachelors in Sociology at the University of California San Diego, She went on to pursue and receive her Masters in 2013 with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of San Diego, pursuing a sub-specialty in trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, disability and sex trafficking.

Dina has taken her fight for life and inner strength to create change on an international and local level. She has pursued her dream of visiting South Africa 3 times to share her personal story and desire to overcome no matter the struggle.

With a background in non-profit work, disability, advocacy rights, social justice, AIDS awareness prevention, and poverty as well as anti-trafficking campaigns in South Africa, Dina has both challenged her local community here in San Diego and internationally.

She has inspired and challenged local communities, schools, and churches. In doing so, she has become a pivotal speaker on the important issues of today’s culture. She has been a keynote speaker for Easter Seals, Arthritis Foundation, community outreach programs, and has appeared on local news channels.

Dina wholeheartedly believes that everyone has the potential to live their lives differently and impact this world.  She has battled many challenges throughout her 40 years of disability and continues to pursue her desires to reach higher goals.

Dina’s ability to overcome many struggles as a wheelchair-bound individual has led her to stand on a strong and unique platform as an advocate for victims of human trafficking, disabilities, and domestic violence.

Creating real stories from her personal challenges that empower others and sharpen her local community, Dina has created Club ABLE, which means Actively Building Life Empowered.

“There’s power in numbers. The more people that are physically disabled that join Club Able, the more that we can go out to businesses and say we want to change a system that’s been ranked in a way that’s not okay for anyone that’s physically disabled.”  –  Dina J. Reh
