Special guest Matt Sanders joins us to provide insight on why men often have trouble with vulnerability and intimacy and gives us an understanding of the way men think. He shares the keys to connecting with members of the opposite sex that can help us all create happy, productive, supportive relationships, whether it’s with a colleague at work or a significant other.

“What we’ve got to learn in the masculine is that the prize is the ability to become vulnerable enough to express yourself and be deeply intimate. To take that risk, that’s a whole other leap.” – Matt Sanders

Over the past 20 years, Matt Sanders has practiced as a clinician, faculty member, forensic specialist, trainer, researcher, educator, and advocate for safe, healthy, and fulfilling relationships.
He has extensive expertise in developing couple’s intimacy, masculinity, parenting, and close family dynamics.
Matt’s early training in grief, depression, addiction, and abusive relationships has deepened his understanding of trauma, resilience, and healing.
As a psychological consultant, he helps guide individuals through difficult events to a more honest emotional self. Using Deep Brain Work and emotional reintegration, Matt helps them gain access to esteem, empathy, vulnerability, and intimacy.
He has found this technique of developing ’emotional landscapes’ can quickly defuse toxic regrets and set a clear path for positive change and healthy development.
As a father, partner, writer, musician, and athlete, Matt uses a depth of real experience to impact client sessions and feels confident about living by the messages of this work.
“We’re looking to be accepted for who we are, so very often we put on a show of who we’re not. This is the irony. We’re trying to connect with someone at a level where we think they’ll be impressed enough to accept us and give us a prize, which is attention, or love, or sex, or whatever currency we can find in the feminine that, in a way, tends to complete the masculine.” – Matt Sanders
